Ovelar, a benchmark company in the manufacture of sleeves, has been recognized with an AIFEC Award for its work in flexography on the sleeves of Ruavieja’s new image. Specifically for the bottles of Cream, Creamy Light, Rice Cream, Coffee Liqueur and Orujo Aguardiente.
Ovelar has developed these sleeves with a pioneering label made from 100% recyclable white PET thanks to its reduced density, which is 25% below the standard, and therefore has greater buoyancy, which facilitates its subsequent recycling. Also, this sleeve has properties of 80% opacity to light, so it does not need interior printing and does not use titanium dioxide (the most polluting ink) in printing. In addition, it incorporates a pre-cut to facilitate its removal, indicated in the design itself.
The work has been carried out with flexographic exterior printing in its entirety and finished texture with LED drying, achieving an appearance of a clay pot in the 360º of the product in the case of the Cream, Coffee Liqueur and Liquor bottle. Marc. For the Cream of Rice bottle, Ovelar has managed to accentuate the contrast of the grains of rice on the ceramic background.
The award-winning sleeves also include gold film cold stamping on the pilgrim’s “scallop shell”, giving it a shiny, powdered effect integrated with the design. This is combined, in addition, with the enhancement of serigraphic relief in line used in the rubric of the brand.
All these characteristics of the labeling have managed to maintain the tradition and roots in the land that the brand sought for its restylling and make the new bottles of the Galician brand sustainable, by using state-of-the-art materials that respect the environment, reducing the use of raw materials, the energy used in its manufacture and carbon dioxide emissions.
